Invitation to contribute research and articles:

 

The National Center for Documentation and Research (NCDR) hereby invites researchers and scholars to submit their original research and/or articles in either Arabic or English for publication in Liwa, the refereed biannual journal of the NCDR on subjects relating to UAE and Arabian Gulf region antiquities, history and heritage as well as methodological reviews of books dealing with those subjects.

Publishing Instructions:

1. Liwa publishes original and hitherto unpublished research and articles.
2. Papers submitted must be printed (Arabic or English).
3. Papers must be computer-set using Arabic transparent font (14) double-spaced on single faced A4 paper. Papers should be submitted through e-mail using Microsoft Office Word or in PDF form should they contain special fonts.
4. Number of words should not exceed 7,000, including tables, figures, references and appendixes.
5. Research/article should be accompanied with an abstract of not more than 500 words, indicating objective, methodology and outcomes. The said abstract should be placed on the front page of the research/article.
6. Notes should be stated at the end of the paper, serialized as per occurrence in the text and according to author’s family name.
7. Attached with the paper should be a one-page brief CV of the author including full name, postal address, telephone contacts, and e-mail.
8. Authors must agree to work with the journal’s editorial staff in editing their respective contributions when and if necessary.
9. Book reviews must not exceed 2000 words and the reviewed books should not be more than two years old.
10. The NCDR recognizes the rights of all researchers, authors and reviewers and will duly pay them for their respective contributions.
11. Five copies of the issue of the journal in which the article/research is published shall be dispatched to the author concerned.
12. The journal shall be committed to publishing papers received two months prior to date of publication.
13. The NCDR reserves all copy rights of papers published in Liwa.
